Dining In Art
Let The Games Play…
When it comes down to fashion events in my city, they are always the best. The times that I am off from work, I always try to check out the latest fashion show. The 2026 Fashion Is Art in Charlotte, North Carolina was an incredible fashion event competition. The theme for the competition is iconic art inspiration. Each fashion group showed so much creativity on how to mix art with a little bit of fashion. Each fashion group had no problem showing so much character and pizzazz on their display. All sixteen entries were just as fabulous as the next. Each fashion group had no problem on showing off on why their display should be first place. Proving both to the judges and the guests on why their display is all about passion for art. Let the games begin!
My Favorite…
When looking at each fashion display at the fashion show, they were so unique. Each fashion piece had no problem catching the guests’ eyes. However, the fashion display I liked was by LS3P. This one shoulder ruffled dress was so beautiful. It was happily inspired by the painting Grey Lines
with Black, Blue, and Yellow by Georgia O'Keeffe. What caught my eye was the texture of the dress. The upper body of the dress was made in broken tile and laminate. The broken tile and laminate were painted in the colors baby blue, yellow, blush pink, teal, indigo, and dark purple. The light reflection of the tiles and laminate allows to colors of the dress to look more realistic. Allowing the colors of the dress to replicate perfectly to the painting. The white ruffles and the left sleeve where able to bring the dress altogether. Just like the color white in the painting, the ruffles grasp the other colors together. Allowing the colors to give the dress and painting a graceful look. This dress present itself as a masterpiece.
And The Winner Is...
The winner of The 2026 Fashion is Art was Progressive Companies. Their fashion piece was inspired by the painting Composition VIII by Wassily
Kandinsky. This fashion group designed their display in a fabulous men's sportswear. The geometric usage in the sportswear is what gives the piece its creativity. Just like the painting, the attire was very abstract. Giving the attire a great outdoor look. Persuading viewers on wanting to try out archery. This attire gives sportswear a brand new perspective style on how it should be represented into the eye. This fashion piece rightfully deserves first place.
The 2026 Fashion is Art was an amazing experience for me. It goes to show that two beautiful things can happily collaborate together with excitement. The competition was incredible to see. It was such an honor to see so much art and creativity in one room.
